At mipig cafe Osaka, a couple of minutes from the Shinsaibashi arcades, the micro pigs have the run of the room — and it rarely takes long before one of them decides your lap is the best seat in the house. There is a drink and mipig's own donut to go with your sitting, and the little herd potters between guests the whole time, happy to be held, photographed and thoroughly fussed over. It is the softest, silliest stop in Minami, and a very welcome change of pace from the crowds outside.

On the second floor of the TRN Shinsaibashi building at 2-10-32 Nishishinsaibashi in Chuo-ku, a couple of minutes from Exit 7 of Osaka Metro Shinsaibashi Station and Exit 5 of Yotsubashi Station. The café is open from 10am to 8pm, right in the middle of Minami's shopping streets.
A few, all for the pigs' sake: guests can visit from their third day in Japan onwards, and not within two days of leaving a country where African swine fever is present or of handling pigs anywhere else. Anyone feeling unwell is asked to come another day, since pigs can catch our bugs too.
