Safari, aquarium and amusement park rolled into one headland above Shirahama: Adventure World keeps some 1,400 animals of 140 species across land, sea and air. The Kenya Car — a safari train — rolls at walking pace through Wild Animal World's herds of giraffe, rhinoceros and lion territory, Ocean World stages performances by dolphins, whales and sea lions in one of Japan's great marine shows, and Fun World adds a full fairground of rides. Few parks anywhere let a single day run from lion country to a dolphin ballet to a Ferris wheel over the Pacific.

No — the park's famous panda family returned to China in June 2025 at the end of a three-decade breeding partnership that raised more pandas than anywhere else in Japan. The panda legacy lives on in exhibits and experiences, but the animals themselves are no longer here; the safari, marine shows and everything else remain in full swing.
A safari train that loops slowly through Wild Animal World, where herbivore herds graze freely around the track and the carnivore territories pass close at window height — a walking-pace safari with no driving required. You can also cover the same ground on foot, by bicycle or in a guided jeep.
A full day fills easily: the safari loop, the marine performances at Ocean World — dolphins, whales and sea lions have set showtimes worth planning around — and Fun World's rides in between. Families routinely close the place down.
Direct buses run about ten minutes from JR Shirahama Station, which limited express trains reach from Osaka's Tennoji in around two hours. Shirahama's white-sand beach and onsen make the park an easy anchor for an overnight coastal trip.
