Mother Farm spreads 250 hectares across the hills of Futtsu, Chiba — a working farm, petting zoo and amusement park in one, its pastures and flower meadows rolling over the Boso Peninsula within easy reach of Tokyo. The signature Sheep Parade sends a flock streaming across the hillside, and around it the day fills itself: feeding alpacas and sheep in the petting zoo, horse riding, seasonal fruit and flower picking, handmade crafts, and zip lines and rides in the theme-park area. As a working farm it also sells its own fresh products to take home.
Take the JR Uchibo Line to Kimitsu Station — around 90 minutes from Tokyo — where a direct local bus climbs to the farm in roughly half an hour. Driving via the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line takes about an hour and a half from central Tokyo.
