Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura recreates an Edo-period town in the hills near Kinugawa Onsen — pass through the checkpoint gate and the streets fill with topknotted samurai, merchants and geisha going about their day. Rent period attire and join the crowd yourself, watch full-blooded plays at the theatres, take on ninja or samurai training, and eat the way Edo did. It pairs naturally with Nikko's shrines and a night in the onsen town next door.
