Osaka's bayside slows to one graceful revolution: the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel, a 100-metre ring rising 112 metres beside the Kaiyukan aquarium, carries you through a relaxed 15-minute orbit with the whole harbour arranged below — the bay bridges, Universal Studios across the water, the city grid running to distant mountains. Ride a see-through gondola and the floor disappears, leaving you floating over Tempozan Harbor Village; after dark the wheel becomes the bay's light show, its LED face doubling as a giant weather forecast.
