teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka
Last updated: August 25, 2026
teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka is a permanent open-air night museum inside Nagai Botanical Garden, where after sunset the trees, ponds and plants themselves become the canvas for around ten luminous artworks. Trees glow and sound gentle tones as you pass, fields of ovoids shift colour when the wind or a passing hand sets them swaying, and pillars dance with the weather — the garden's living ecosystem is the art. Walking it, you feel how nature, art and the people moving through them belong to one continuous world.

Frequently Asked Questions
It's a nighttime museum — the artworks only exist after dark, so opening follows sunset and shifts with the seasons. During the day the same grounds are simply Nagai Botanical Garden; come back after sundown and the garden transforms.
The garden sits inside Nagai Park in southern Osaka. Take the Midosuji Line or the JR Hanwa Line to Nagai Station and walk through the park to the botanical garden entrance — about ten minutes from the ticket gates.
Yes — the exhibition is an open-air walk through the real garden, so dress for the season and wear comfortable shoes. That outdoor setting is the point: wind, rain and the season change what the artworks do from night to night.
