Kouri Ocean Tower stands on the highest point of Kouri Island, its observation decks 82 metres above some of the clearest emerald water in Okinawa — and squarely facing the postcard view of Kouri Bridge stretching almost two kilometres across the sea to the main island. A self-driving cart glides you up the hill through subtropical gardens, a shell museum fills the lower floors, and the café at the top pairs afternoon tea and desserts with the panorama. Little Kouri is celebrated as Okinawa's "island of love", which makes the tower a favourite stop on a northern road trip.
