Photo:Fukuoka at dusk from the tower. At 234 metres it is the tallest seaside tower in Japan, and the deck faces out over Hakata Bay.

Fukuoka Tower rises 234 metres over the Momochi waterfront — Japan's tallest seaside tower, nicknamed the Mirror Sail for its triangular shaft sheathed in more than 8,000 one-way mirrors that catch the sky above Hakata Bay. Its three viewing floors top out at 123 metres, where a full circle of glass takes in the entire city on one side and the open sea on the other; one level down, the Sky Cafe pairs the same panorama with a drink in hand. After dark the tower joins its own view, glowing with nightly illuminations over the bay.
