No tour can promise it — Fuji makes its own weather, and summer afternoons are often hazy. Odds are best on clear winter days and morning departures, and even under cloud the 5th Station sits above the weather surprisingly often.
It sits at about 2,300 metres and runs roughly ten degrees colder than Tokyo — bring a warm layer even in midsummer, and proper shoes rather than sandals. It's shops, shrines and viewpoints rather than a hike, but the air is thin and cool.
