The Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is the world's first ramen amusement park — a place to eat, learn and make ramen under one roof. Downstairs, a lovingly rebuilt townscape from 1958, the year instant ramen was invented, gathers famous ramen shops from all over Japan beside Showa-era coffee shops and candy stores; upstairs, a gallery traces the dish's history and culture, and the RAHAKU SUGOMEN LAB lets you design an original cup ramen printed with a photo from your own phone. Between bowls, you're wandering the good old days of Japan.

It's a few minutes' walk from Shin-Yokohama Station, which is on the Tokaido Shinkansen, the JR Yokohama Line and the municipal subway — an easy stop on the way into or out of Tokyo, since most shinkansen call there.
