Sky Promenade Observation Deck in Nagoya

Last updated: August 26, 2026

Nagoya spread out under a pale sky seen from high above, a hotel tower rising in the foreground and a river winding out to the industrial port on the horizon
Photo:The open-air walkway at Midland Square. At 220 metres it is the highest deck in the Chubu region, and the only one with the wind coming through.

The Chubu region's highest observation deck is an open-air one: Sky Promenade wraps the 44th to 46th floors of Midland Square, a walkway in the sky 220 metres above Nagoya with the breeze coming through and a near-360-degree sweep of the city below. Directly connected to Nagoya Station, it shifts from a daytime lookout across the plain — mountains on the horizon on clear days — to one of the city's most photogenic night views, the grid of lights running out to the dark of the bay.
